Memorandum Ofcom/BBC Trust

Memorandum of Understanding between The Office of Communications (Ofcom) and the BBC Trust: The BBC Trust (“the Trust”) and Ofcom have been given duties and responsibilities which enable both bodies to serve the public in different ways. (...) The BBC has been established (...) to serve the public interest and its main object is to promote its public purposes through the provision of information, education and entertainment by means of television, radio and other media services. (...) The Trust represents the interests of licence fee payers and is responsible for ensuring the effective promotion of the BBC’s public purposes.
