US Congress Sets Definitive End-Date for Digital Television Transition: "The United States Congress recently approved a statutory definitive end-date for the nation's television broadcasters to transition to digital television spectrum. Many carriers and manufacturers eagerly anticipated the Congressional action, which mandates that television broadcasters transition their broadcast operations from the 700 MHz analog band to new digital spectrum by February 17, 2009."
