'Russians riveted by TV mini-series'

CBC: "During the Christmas holidays, more than half the population of Russia has been transfixed by a television mini-series that depicts Satan committing murder in Moscow. The Master and Margarita is an adaptation of a Mikhail Bulgakov novel written in the 1930s. The book weaves together three plot lines: the devil and his entourage wreaking chaos in 1930s Moscow, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the struggle of two lovers trying to reunite. It's a thinly-disguised satire of Josef Stalin's brutal dictatorship."
